Thanks to a Facebook friend for this reminder of what happens when freedom of religion is no longer honored and when minorities are oppressed and persecuted rather than protected: a Russian Pentecostal Pastor is shot dead this week outside his church. The reason? He was a convert from Islam to Christianity in a region that is 90% Muslim. The 49-year-old is survived by his wife and five children.
We do well to remember those who make sacrifices in the service of our God, especially those who make the ultimate sacrifice.
