Hello all – Just wanted to post a quick update since I’ve been slacking off the blog lately. I hope to be posting more interesting stuff very soon. In the meantime — I’m fast approaching the middle of the first term at seminary (thank goodness we have no midterm exams, just papers to write!) and I am loving it BIGtime. I’m just attending part-time for now, and the two classes I’m taking this semester are Church History and Biblical Interpretation.
As you can see from this blog, church history is a major area of interest… something I already read and write about just for fun (a pastor friend of mine says this is ‘not normal’). And Biblical Interpretation has surprised me with how much I enjoy it. Even something as seemingly mundane as researching the origins of a single Greek word can lead to hours of pleasure and many prayers of praise and thanksgiving (and even a finished paper now and then, LOL).
And I think one of the most wonderful things about seminary — as obvious as it may seem — is starting each class day with worship and each class with prayer. I’m here to tell you, it makes a difference, and I need to remember to pray over my classes when I teach too. Even in a secular school, there’s nothing to prevent a silent prayer before the students arrive… 😉
So how have YOU been doing? Post and let me know!
