The girls and I arrived safely back at Tammy’s about 5:15 p.m. Sunday. We had a wonderful time! The weather was picture perfect. Had it been hot and humid I don’t know if I would have been able to do all. Some of the attractions we saw on Sat. and Sun. were, a tour of an Amish home, (purchased home baked cookies and homemade jelly and peanunt butter fluff! Yummy!) Went to the barn and saw horses (!), sheep, donkeys, pigs, and two little beagle pups (which I held), we took a ride in an Amish buggy with Amnish man driving, went to an Amish School on the grounds that is not used but had the desks, some books and an Amish teacher. The rest of that day was mostly spent at an Amish Flea Market (although it was a lot of stores and it was not used but new items) The streets roll up at 5:p.m. and nothing open on Sunday! So we went back to the motel and the girls went swimming and the ole lady took a nap. Sunday we went to Dover and toured the Werther museum (Art and I toured it back in ‘98) we all enjoyed that. Then we went for brunch at Shoney’s and then to a Victorian home and “carriage house” and toured that. By then it was 3:30 and time to head for home, arriving about 5:30 p.m.We left Tammy’s about 6:30 p.m. and went straight to C’ville to hear a band playing at Lion’s Square (country band), Arrived in Vanderbilt about 9 p.m. and unloaded my stuff and took kids home and they unloaded…sooo…by the time I got in it was time for bed!
I came back to Tammy’s last night to babysit today as she is working.
I saw on the news last night that Neil finished his last job and the people were enjoying the “finished product!”
Hope Bev and Don are having a nice time!
Love to all,
This will be the summer of short road trips for me. Yesterday I went hiking in one of the beautiful Georgia state parks. The dog loved it. I’m looking for other fun day trips in the TN/GA/AL area, if anyone has any ideas. I’ll be heading up to Philly the weekend after the fourth of July. If you’re going to be in town, drop me a line, I’d love to get together!
Neil and I will be joining his parents and his sister’s family in a trip to the Outer Banks in mid-August, so I’ll post about ours then. Hope we get to see the location of the Wright Brothers’ first flight!
