OK I’m going to keep bugging people with this question until I hear as many unique answers as I think I can find. Here goes:
Why is it that people who don’t want to know Jesus hang out in churches?
I’m not talking about the curious who come to visit. I’m talking about people who have been church members — often active members — for a loooooong time. They hang out, spend time with friends, have some food, might even run a committee or two…. but if you start talking to them about Jesus their eyes glaze over. Sometimes the more honest among them will tell you straight out they’re not interested.
I dunno about you, but if I didn’t love Jesus and want to know Him better, church would be the LAST place I’d be. I’d be out partying, having a good time, eat-drink-and-be-merry-for-tomorrow-we-die — if Jesus’ story isn’t true, we truly are of “all people the most to be pitied”.
So what do you think — why do people who don’t love Jesus and don’t want to know him hang out in churches?
