Hey!
Very nice blog… I like the format and the family section. Fun articles too!
Jeannette
Glad you like it! 🙂
Great picture of Neil! Thanks for sharing. I assume he “caught” the steeple and put it in place ok! 🙂
I’m excited about your blog Peg, and think it is a great way to keep up with the family! Hopefully, next week I’ll get to read your articles! The “girls” and I are going on —what has become—our annual girls week-end get away! We leave tomorrow and come home Sunday and this year we are going to Amish country in Ohio.
Elaine
Now is he still in the steeple, and if so when will they let him out?
Tim
Good to see everyone making themselves at home — that’s what this is here for! 🙂
Elaine — have a great time, and be sure and post when you get back and let us know what a good time you ladies had!
Tim — I’m replying for Neil since he’s still in the steeple. I won’t let him out until he promises to be good, and I do mean very, very good….. 😉
Hi Peg,
The girls and I arrived safely back at Tammy’s about 5:15 p.m. Sunday. We had a wonderful time! The weather was picture perfect. Had it been hot and humid I don’t know if I would have been able to do all. Some of the attractions we saw on Sat. and Sun. were, a tour of an Amish home, (purchased home baked cookies and homemade jelly and peanunt butter fluff! Yummy!) Went to the barn and saw horses (!), sheep, donkeys, pigs, and two little beagle pups (which I held), we took a ride in an Amish buggy with Amnish man driving, went to an Amish School on the grounds that is not used but had the desks, some books and an Amish teacher. The rest of that day was mostly spent at an Amish Flea Market (although it was a lot of stores and it was not used but new items) The streets roll up at 5:p.m. and nothing open on Sunday! So we went back to the motel and the girls went swimming and the ole lady took a nap. Sunday we went to Dover and toured the Werther museum (Art and I toured it back in ’98) we all enjoyed that. Then we went for brunch at Shoney’s and then to a Victorian home and “carriage house” and toured that. By then it was 3:30 and time to head for home, arriving about 5:30 p.m.We left Tammy’s about 6:30 p.m. and went straight to C’ville to hear a band playing at Lion’s Square (country band), Arrived in Vanderbilt about 9 p.m. and unloaded my stuff and took kids home and they unloaded…sooo…by the time I got in it was time for bed!
I came back to Tammy’s last night to babysit today as she is working.
I saw on the news last night that Neil finished his last job and the people were enjoying the “finished product!”
Hope Bev and Don are having a nice time!
Love to all,
Elaine
Elaine — Wow, you ladies covered a lot of ground!
I’m going to copy your post over to another thread called “Family Travels” so people can share their summer adventures — yours will be the first! 🙂
Hey,
If your not letting him out until he’s good, then I know he has been released. Please tell him I said hello.
I had a wonderful visit with Elaine, Connie, Wendy and Garret a few weeks ago. Amanda, Sean, Colin, and Fiona and I had come to visit the family and I decided to take a walk and visit Elaine. I asked if anyone wanted to go and Fiona anxiously said she would. I always enjoy my talks with Elaine and the girls and although Garret doesn’t say much to me, he has such a wonderful spirit. Elaine’s home once belonged to my great-granparents (as most of you know) brings back such wonderful memories.
I would love some news on all the Bowman’s. I have such wonderful memories of all the family, new members and old, and miss you all. Thanks for this blog Peg!
Love,
Tim
Hey Tim (and all the rest of the gang!)
Sounds like a lovely visit! We’re overdue for a trip “down south” ourselves… not sure when we’re going to get to it, but would be great to do in the summertime. I’m glad to hear everyone’s doing well.
I’ll give an update on what we’re up to in another post very shortly!
Love to all,
Peg
